Odd looking Jennings
Saw this odd Jennings on ebay today. I guess this was made right at the end of the Jennings era when they had pretty much lost their way. Strangely, it seems to combine the best (the light up lower front panel) and the worst (the rest of it) of Jennings. Pretty nasty really.

I would think that machine was made approx in the last 10 years and was manufactured in the UK.

On a par with those "Let's pretend Rol a Tops" that float around every couple of years.
Apart from the bottom casting (as coppinpr pointed out) it looks like a pile of doo-doo fashioned around a Bally handle.
The motor world is full of this nonsense ....
Why bother?

I would question if any of it is original.... I would guess this is late '80s/'90s.....The casting looks rough and too fresh on the inside.

Re: Odd looking Jennings
I'm pretty sure some versions have a printer inside which prints a redemption paper ticket out of the jackpot glass area. These versions had the payout tray area blanked off. A very modern machine manufactured for the trade, they were/are made with different light-ups. The blue version is a really sharp looking colourway version.
I was told by an "expert"....... quite recently that Jennings originally made the light up Bakelite panels for the Sun Chiefs in a marbled red, yellow, green and also in blue? I would be interested if anyone knows for sure what these original jennings colourways were? I appreciate they could have done all manner of exclusive or specials or limited run models for the larger casinos or operators in the States but I have never seen a marbled blue original bakelite panel before on a Sun Chief variant.
