Swapped for £40 worth of owed wages.....

Post by yallop »

New to this site and need some help.
Last week I went to see my old boss to collect £40 of wages he owed me.
Needless to say he didn't have £40 on him surprise surprise, so I said I would take this old looking slot machine/ game I had admired for years. (He's an Ex pub landlord you see)
It's a nostalgic machines Ltd "fun at the fair" model. Takes 10p's and is in full working order with 2 keys.
I'm now unsure of what to do with it.
I would like to sell but don't think eBay is the right place, and it's such a nice thing id like it to go where someone will really love it.
Any help appreciated. Thanks :)

well, you have done very well for £40, even for a repro Allwin...no picture, but sounds like a good machine. What's wrong with ebay to move it on, no licence needed to sell, take plenty of pix, start at a couple of hundred & it will sell for sure. Better, wait till Xmas, summer hols not the best time to sell...good luck.

Wasn't sure if it was ok to sell on eBay without a license of any sort

Hi yallop, welcome to the forum.

It sounds as if you are describing an allwin reproduction made by Nostalgia..
These were made in China up to only a few years ago.
You did alright for £40, although I suspect the stress of losing a job and pay is not easy.
You do see them being sold for as much £300-£400 on eBay, although it's likely because there are newcomers taking a risk and not realising they aren't buying an old original arcade piece.

We don't allow for sale or wanted adverts in the body of the forum, however as a member you may register to advertise it for free on The Market.
Follow this link, you will need to register to use the this facility.

Thanks again :)
I hope I didn't sound like I was trying to sell here, just looking for information really.
It has a sticker on the inside, I don't know if it means anything. Apart from the fact that it is made in China!

Would I label it as an allwin made by nostalgia in an eBay ad, or is that lying?!
Sorry for so many questions!

as you say, but I would lose the 'made in china' badge!...it is what it is, and we have been stunned and shocked before by people's buying preferences..it's called supply and demand.

I think your description is perfect and accurate.

Seeing as "it is what it is" why lose the maker's label?
