Clive Baker at Goodwood
Hi
Clive Baker is now on Facebook with his arcade. If you look under National Museum of Penny Slot Machines you will see pictures of his arcade at Goodwood Revival.

Re: Clive Baker at Goodwood
Clive was complaining today how little he took at Goodwood and what hard work it was to get folk to play the machines. You'd think a retro festival would be the ideal venue but unfortunately many young adults (who have no living memory of the machines) seem almost intimidated by them and afraid to give them a try.

I can't see how you'd make any money at all after setting up costs , fuel, travel and wage for attendant for a travelling arcade of vintage machines. If you had good weather and bumper crowds (in other words high footfall) then its better to go for selling a pot of 20 old pennies for £2 and have enough machines for them to be used up before they get around them all. That price minimises the punters perception of value in each coin ( just like chips in casinos) and feels like good value for money. Chances are they get a second pot of 20 thus doubling your average customer spend.
There are of course better machines than others at soaking up money and those that present a challenge to beat.
