I finally started back on the Flyover after initially getting off to a great start only to be stopped in my tracks by an irate woman who reminded me that I had intended to decorate a bedroom, I think around 2011 :woops: and who had no intention of letting it go until it was done. I started putting the mech back together and instantly hit a problem which I am hoping is an easy fix, but just need some advice. As can be seen in the photo, when I received this machine the wires operating the payouts are bent out of shape and in the other pic cleaned and bent back into shape, but they will not do what they are intended for. Is it a case of trial and error, bending to suit, or are they perhaps not original to this machine, which may be why they are already pulled from the machine?

The wires look too long perhaps. When the payout slide is in the closed position, there should be a small gap between the left (bent back) end of the wire and the end of the slot it sits in. In other words, the wires shouldn't obstruct the movement of the payout mechanism. Maybe just a matter of rearranging them or more bending? Take a look at the mech pictures in this thread.
Old metal coat-hangers are a reasonable substitute if you need to make new ones.

Thank you kindly Mr P.M - pictures are always helpful. I think I got to grips with it now. Now back together. Am I missing something or right in thinking the top wire serves no purpose, as when the ball enters the 6 payout it falls past the wire straight onto the first lever to start the payout sequence?

I think you're correct - the top wire is redundant. The only function I can see it performing is preventing a ball dropping through if the payout is held in the open position from a previous win.

Yes nice job,

I was wondering whether your machine was made by Wonders Automatics for resale by Kraft Automatics. They did this for Ruffler and Walker, where you often see one of their badges on Wonders machines. I noticed in the original picture what looked like a Krafts badge in the top left corner. Another clue lie in the fact that advertised on the double decker bus is "Kraft Automatics".....Just a thought and may explain the variation in the theme, I could not see this name on the other variation of the same machine. Probably worth keeping the badge if it did say Krafts... ;-)

Many thanks for kind comments. There is a badge treefrog which I have misplaced but I will attach it if I ever come across it. I'm not the most observant person and in all the time looking at this have never made the connection between badge and artwork. Interesting that they would do this, though I wonder if there are any others like it?
