Eerie digger project

Post by ddstoys »

Well today I picked up another 2 rather large projects pieces. An old Eerie Digger and a Tonka dragline type crane mechanism again not sure of age but it's described as an an antique eerie crane mechanism on the paperwork that came with them to the previous owner.

Plan is to build a cabinet for the tonka as a practice then build myself a nice one for the eerie.

Love the mechanical marvel no power all cogs and gears running of a single crank that turns the crane lowers the bucket closes the bucket raises it then returns back the the start and opens the bucket. Must have sat there cranking it for about half an hour just watching it lol

Hello dd
I have a complete 1926 mech off an
Erie digger
We talked about it 6 years ago on this site
Search Erie digger
And it comes up
The Erie should have the cabin on the top
With the coin slide and mech altogether
U can see on my picture

Is this the photo your talking about?

Looks pretty similar to mine from what I can see how does the coin mech work mine doesn't have anything for the coin mech. Could you take some more photos ?

There not lost Rory....there hiding from me dirtdog

It was on the top of something last time I seen it
Like a crane or some other floor machine
But if am not looking for it
It's not registering in my little brain were it is
I have an idea ,but it's a bonded warehouse
And have to travel 7 miles from my house
And also book a time am going to be there for access
To the containers ,,it's not in my garage I know that
Since the last time we spoke about these in 2010
I have lived in 4 houses ,so it's moved about a bit ,,

Sounds like am on the run done it @&@ !!ESCAPE!!
