Hi Guys decided to start another one of my projects - this one is a 1954 Seeburg Coon Hunt.

This will be a long term project as space allows.

I'll attach a photo of what it should look like, what mine actually looks like and a few of the guns restoration. I can never seem to get them in order but I'm sure you guys will work it out. ;)

Dan, I was going to say look out where you point that rifle! Then remembered your Ten Strike needs a new dome anyway.

Yeah new dome would be nice one day.

Finished the rifle new cable all ready to go. Now onto the gun stand ;)

Pulled out the cabinet and stripped what was left of it. All the shiny stuff was sent to the platers months ago, hopefully get it back soon.
The paint was literally falling off. I used the edge of a steel ruler to get it to the state in one of the photos.

It's been back to bare timber and is now in primer. The aim for this game is to look nice not new. So any imperfections that don't get removed in the repair process will be left - no point owning something so old if it looks brand new.

Look forward to seeing this Beauty Finished, Wish I had the room for a Shooting Gallery, they are a lot of Fun!

More prep work on the cab waiting for glue to dry decided I'd have a go at the instruction plate.
This is aliminium with the writing etched in then painted again going for nice not new.

The glue residue was a bastard to get off and in a few spots had corroded the alloy.

Steel wool and windex to start removed what was left of the glue and levelled out the corrosion then went around the rest of it the same way till it all looked uniform. Once that was done got out the old buff wheel on the drill and slowly buffed it till it had a shine. I'll leave it as is for now once it's on the freshly painted game it might look like shit but I'm happy for now

Small amounts of progress fixed some seperating ply on the gun stand that the primer showed up added some more primer ready to sand when time
Permits.

And tonight I dissasembled the credit mechanism for a scrub. It's only roughly assembled for now still a couple of items to do before I fully assemble it like replace that huge antique capacitor today's equivalent will be tiny in comparison.

More progress today - now to leave it dry before giving it a cut and polish then it's time to start the re assembly.

Gave it a cut and polish today and pretty happy with the results, maybe even too good a result - I wanted nice, not new.

Have to wait for the chrome platers to finish the legs and coin plate etc., so this will be the last update till then. Don't want to start the target section until this sections 100% done.

Got the parts back from the electroplaters so I could finally re assemble the gun stand. I'm pretty happy with the results. Now I need some free time to do the target section

Really wish I'd taken some better before photos but here's a comparison

This game had taken a back seat as I don't have the room to strip and restore the big target section. But I've had a bad back so finally made up the new cable from the target section to the gun stand which got me tinkering again.

Got the score section working again and cleaned up the moon which lights up when you shoot a coon. Hopefully get rid of a few of these pinball machines soon and get the space I need to finish it.

Well guys it’s only taken 3 years and a pandemic to finally get to do my Coon hunt cabinet,

We were on holidays when the Chinese Virus I mean corona virus went ballistic and the government website said get home ASAP cutting our holiday short and on our return we had to quarantine at home for 2 weeks.
Most people would be upset but not me I have a government order to stay home and not deal with anyone outside my house so without no options to work or help others I had 2 weeks to do my own games that have been put off.

2 days the wife was already mental well more mental me I have 2 days left and I’m wishing I had longer hahahah

You've done a wonderful job! and a fantastic looking and fun game to play too.
I love the American coin-op rifle shooting games. Can Can Wonderland in Minneapolis has a massive floorspace packed with hundreds of similar US vintage electro mechanical arcade machines to play.
My friend Larry operates an arcade there both with these originals, but also impressive, innovative new machines, designed and built in a traditional style.
There is also a massive indoor crazy golf course with the concept and construction of each hole built by a different designer, leading to a truly amazing result, and for pinball enthusiasts another huge collection, displayed and working, and yet another collection of early video, space and other EM rifle shooting games.

Hahaha nah it still won’t work but at least it will look pretty.
I’m still trying to track down a few parts it needs, but I’m pretty sure some Americans think Posting something to Australia opens a portal from hell direct to their gamesroom. Conversations about parts - yep, happy to find you the part etc. etc., ask for a total including shipping and they just stop talking.
