Atlas Games Civilian Defense
I came across this trade stim on the net and have never seen one before. It must be one of the most......unusual art works on a slot. Both German and Japanese planes appear to be crashing in droves in New York. All I can find out about it was it was called "Civilian Defense". One was sold on Ebay in 2008 for $4000 and it was made by Atlas Games in 1942. Anyone know anything else about it, like - how did it work?
Re: trade stim, incredible art work
I am wondering whether this was just a collection box for the war effort as there appears to be no 'play field' and the item description mentions - 'all original near mint porcelain front with outstanding graphics'. The graphics also has two circular messages one each side saying: 'LETS GO! USA KEEP EM FLYING'.
It would seem to me that this message and the illustration hinting that if they do not keep flying then cities will be attacked, would persuade people to part with their money and assume that the dosh goes towards building aircraft.
Perhaps our learned aviator from across the pond could elaborate (not that I am suggesting that you actually flew during the war John).

I agree, no sign of a game, but it sold for £4000! and was made by Atlas games. Be nice to know more.
John still has his leather flying helmet... wears it on a daily basis.

And I wear it to bed, too. You never know when you'll be called back to duty.

Most unfortunately, you may be right, Coppinpr. If Trumpelthinskin starts a war, I'm taking my fighter and heading for Canada.
