Sam Moffat Gumdrop

Saw this on the box the other day, window at top is filled with gumdrops - put a penny in the slot and a sweet tumbles down through the pegs and into the cup at the bottom - the machine did not look as if it was 'home made' but a bit boring as slots go, however, it's the makers name that caught my eye: Sam Moffat. Anyone know anything about this maker?
