Newly restored - What a blow!

Post by badpenny »

I've just finished a restoration, and it was a very satisfying project.
I came across it at The Derby Spares Sale back in The Summer, it's not a slot or even coin operated, but it does have a tenuous link to the hobby.

I rescued Mick Harris Snr's compressor. He built himself a paint spray booth, shot blaster, polisher, sand belt and other essentials.

It's certainly not one of the Aldi/Screwfix bright paintwork and plastic versions sitting on Chinese castors. It's a lump of steel with a small compressor unit and a thumping great Crompton's Electric motor sandwiching a vertical receiver.

He must have kept it near his sand blaster as I had to scrape the residue of numerous and various paint jobs off it. I've replaced hoses, filters and the oil and reinforced the wiring between pressure switches and it runs a treat.
