Hi top

Post by bryansjim »

Latest buy is a 777 Mills Hi top. Nice un molested condition just requires new reel strips ,a bit of a tweak as the payouts are miles out and a lick of paint. A nice feature is the original casino name plate "Lucky Strike Club". :boing!:

Did they make a Mills/Sega High Top on 1D with a jackpot and escalator. All the ones I see are on 6d. Is there such a machine???

I once saw a Mills Hi top on 1d with an escalator. It was doing the rounds of collectors in Nottinghamshire (probably 15 years ago or so). It didn't have a jackpot bank, there was a mirror where the window is.
Upon removing the mirror we found an original screen printed glass underneath saying something about jackpot and an amount in cents (can't fully remember) It was broken across its width.
So whether it was originally on cents and the escalator fitted old pennies or what I can only guess.

I have often pondered the questions about 1D escalators and jackpots on Mills machines.

I have never seen one on a Mills Hi-Top but did see one on a Sega Hi Top. It was at one of Steve's auctions about 4 years ago. Definitely original and definitely for the UK.

I was told the Mills ones are 50 cent escalators which will also take 1Ds.

As for Hi-Top 1D jackpots, I have never seen one - not even on a Sega..

Are there any others out there who can contribute or add any pictures of old penny Hi-Tops?

Hi, so a 1D Mills High Top with escalator is quite rare - anybody know how much a normal 1D High Top in good order is worth?

Dangerous grounds these estimates but current price suggests you should get between £200-£250. £300.00 for an absolute original corker. I've seen quite a few but generally they are pretty tatty.
