On sixpence!
I wonder what the prizes were?

Of course being Australia, the value of a sixpence at the time was more like a couple of pennies.....

Explains why you see so many bandits or pokies on shilling and two shilling coinage for earlier machines.

One thing that is handy is the Aussie coinage is the same size, except the penny which was thicker.

I've got a penny slot and chute to convert it back. :)

Australian tanner was 4.8d British, so would still have got you ten fags...
