I've been on this forum too long.
I was expecting that!

Now that would be a cool feature, turning a repro Jennings (or other spare cabinet) machine into a toilet cistern '!' ....by the way I am being serious, next project on its way.

It’s not a genuine Jennings but just watch it go for some mad price at auction.... :!:

I don't think he wants to sell it... I think he likes it !
Now if you really want to shriek and pull your hair out at the terrible things people do to traditional machines... now's your chance...
I just finished these top and belly glasses for this man's classic motor cycle spares showroom and I rather like it. !SAINT!

The Jennings or should I say repro Jennings with Jubilee mech finished today at Adam Partridge's sale and made an incredible £1240  I am sure when sold by the company who made them, they sold them for less than that.... Wow...

They also sold a Sega Lite Up, again with a Jubilee mechanism in it and the most expensive Nostalgic machine yet. The Sega/Jubilee sold for £1200 and the repro allwin for £700. I would rather have one of the current oak reproduction machines which look much better quality from Retro Arcade.

So repro machines are the way to go, or are people desperate (or ill informed)?

I think ill informed. They believe they are buying original machines. If they knew the Nostalgia machines were made in China, don't think they would touch them.

Those Win a Mints have always fetched good money. I had one a few years ago, sold it for £450, & used the money to buy a Whales Win a Chew for £350!

I agree, it can only be an example of how dangerous a little knowledge can be.
I imagine within time either the buyer (or the person he off-loads onto) will appear on here asking for history and assistance.

People with holiday money burning a hole in their pockets, ooh that looks nice, always wanted a bandit and now I can afford one. Reminds me of a car I sold. Spent ages getting it ready for sale and sorting out the brakes ready for test drives. First guy that came looked at it and said, “those wheel trims are the best I’ve seen on one of these, I’ll have it!”

People only see what they want to see if they want something enough. If you’re thinking of selling bandits now is the time to do it. Carpe diem.

Just bought one of these repros with a couple of other machines. To be honest, it doesn't look too bad. The things I have noted: false escalator, false jackpot and this one has an Aristocrat mech in that works well. The only other thing is the Jennings on the front is not cast in. It is a graphic.

Looking for a Jennings Reproduction

Post by led77 »

Post moved & merged - Site Admin.

Hello all,
we have two Jennings Governor reproduction slots in our traveling display. Over the Winter we have changed the unit and we now need another to fill the gap. The units are worked and have Aristocrat mechanisms in them. They look the part and are very reliable, obviously at a fraction of the costs.
Thanks in advance, Steve
