Cam Davy Jones Locker Penny Pusher discovery!
Cam Davy Jones Locker Penny Pusher discovery!
Having recently purchased a Davy Jones locker penny pusher I have started to strip down and clean the machine.
On removing the back flash, a piece of corrugated card basically with a rather nice period cartoon backing stuck to it, I discovered the name of the customer it was made for written on the back.
The machine was ordered for Jackson’s Arcade in Mablethorpe and used for a very short time before it was “retired” to their store room when decimalisation came in. It is now installed on my Penny Arcade Trailer where it will hopefully bring happiness to many for years to come

CAM Automatics, of Seaham Harbour.
Nice to know they reached as far as Mablethorpe. They were very common on the Durham/Yorkshire coast.

I spent a lot of money in Jackson's back in the late 60s and 70s. I bet I played that machine.
