I've had the tall one but it didn't have a cash door at the front.

I am sure we have discussed it on here before some years ago. There seem to have been more of the tall type coming up for sale at the Elephant over the last year than shorter oddly as I think the shorter is more common. None have cash doors at front that I have seen.

I think the Tall ones generally had the cash drawer at the back :

Naturally there were exceptions, the slimline cased ones for example :

www.melright.com/bryans shows a tall cabinet and offers an explanation as to why the rear cash box door was introduced.

...possibly to prevent the maintenance man having access to the cash box?
But the same could be achieved by only giving him the keys to the back.

Tall counter-top Clocks with a front cash door (as per the flyer above) are rarer for sure.

(Edited my last post to include the word 'door' so as to avoid confusion between box/compartment/drawer/sausage/spaceship).
I think Mr Wright seems to be unaware of the clocks that have cash accessible from the front as he says 'later models had a separate lockable cash compartment at the bottom of the machine, accessible from the rear'. If this hadn't been introduced and the maintenance man 'only had keys to the back' then he would have access to the cash. :burp:
