Re: 30s Pinball
Lots of those old '30s machines featured in this interesting article from Popular Mechanics.
What is it about New York and people enjoying themselves? What is wrong with these people?

Re: 30s Pinball
Elvis haircuts, long red coats, tight black trousers? I've seen some, and much later than the 50s. A gang of them showed up at the fairground where I was working during the filming of "Tommy", and started a vicious fight with some bikers. Ken Russell filmed the fight; I can't remember if the fighting made it into the movie, but I recall the Teddy Boys featured in it briefly.Hi Operator Bell, We had the same thing here in the UK in the 1950s

Re: 30s Pinball
Can one of our transatlantic readers tell me what 'Spark Plugs' refers to, in horse-racing terms?
In Britain, it is only applied to the metal-and-porcelain devices for igniting the mixture in internal-combustion engines.
