Lots of those old '30s machines featured in this interesting article from Popular Mechanics.
What is it about New York and people enjoying themselves? What is wrong with these people?

Re: 30s Pinball
Elvis haircuts, long red coats, tight black trousers? I've seen some, and much later than the 50s. A gang of them showed up at the fairground where I was working during the filming of "Tommy", and started a vicious fight with some bikers. Ken Russell filmed the fight; I can't remember if the fighting made it into the movie, but I recall the Teddy Boys featured in it briefly.Hi Operator Bell , We had the same thing here in the UK in the 1950s

Re: 30s Pinball
Can one of our transatlantic readers tell me what 'Spark Plugs' refers to, in horse-racing terms?
In Britain, it is only applied to the metal-and-porcelain devices for igniting the mixture in internal-combustion engines.

Re: 30s Pinball
I'm assuming you mean the famous Spark Plug cartoon horse?

My 1935 Neontact
by PAMCO, with scoring in neon letters! The idea being to complete a score in numbers and then be paid for that amount by the operator. Only two known examples, I sold to a museum in Belgium a few years ago. Runs on batteries.

Re: 30s Pinball
Thought you'd like to see my sympathetic renovation of a 1930s Genco Spitfire Pintable. I bought it for around £350 at the Elephant House Auctions back in 2016 and it remained in my garage for the next four years at which point I thought I'd sell it as I didn't have a great deal of time on my hands. Only offered a £200 for it, so thought, when lock down was on, I'd have a play around with the electrics and see if I could get it working again... Glad I did, here's my Mrs showing the machine off today. Enjoy!
I took the glass off for the video, as it was quite glarey with it on.

What a great game, nice restoration job. Narration lovely and sounded just like Sally from Corrie!
