I was sorry to read that the European Union won the Nobel Peace Prize today.

Just for the record, I voted for Great Britain.

Might have something to do with the fact that Thorbjørn Jagland, head of the Nobel prize committee, is also Secretary General of the Council of Europe. I also read that the vote for the award was taken on a day that Ågot Valle was away sick. Ms Valle is a notable EU critic.

As the EU Referendum blog observes, "Thus in a country where 80 percent of ordinary people are against the EU, we find a committee where everybody is in favour of the EU."

I immediately sent back my 1/502.5 millionth share of the award as I have never been in favour of The EU anyway, but this latest revelation is banal.

To award The EU The Nobel Peace Prize is meaningless, they might as well have awarded it directly to Germany for not having invaded us all again in 1966 or again in 1987 (no offence intended to our forum member friends from there).

The bureaucratic stupidity that has been leveled upon us from Brussels over the years has at the best given us a minute or two of chuckling down the pub and at the worst lost us jobs by the tens of thousands.

In The Common Market referendums of The 70's I voted NO.
Should we have another election about it then I shall vote NO again only this time for even more important and urgent reasons.
