Tomorrow will be a strange day for me !!

At 5pm tomorrow I will retire.
After 50 years in the same job,at the place. Straight from school at 15 and never a day unemployed, one and a half days off sick in all the 50 years, not a single Saturday off other than high days and holidays(even worked the morning of the day I got married). Started as the tea boy and end as the business owner (including the building) Enjoyed pretty much every moment...and not many can say that

I have years left!
My career path has been slightly different. I started at the top getting a B.A.
I have then worked my way to the bottom!
I just hope I get to retirement, the Gov. keep moving the goal posts!
I have always found the secret to happiness is doing as you are told.

Well done that man, your working life is a mirror image of mine. I bought my first business at the age of 27 and worked at it until I retired at 60. The only trouble was after working for 33 years 7 days a week ( newsagent) I felt guilty and bored not doing anything so went and got a part time job and here I am still working 3 days a week 15 years later. I wish you a long and happy retirement and hope you enjoy every minuet of it.

I didnt even think of going to work today !!!! but then....I have always had mondays off

I must be careful about making that mistake BP as my drive to work was 54 miles for the last 16 years

sorry to disappoint BP but for the last few years I didnt work Tuesdays either, in fact the situation wont occur till thursday and by then Ill be winging my way to Barbados so it will be the middle of March before I turn up at work and dont know why
