The 4th of July!!

Enter the Honourable Judge's favourite tavern for a dram of Tittle Tattle. There's an ancient bandit in the corner, but I forget his name...

The 4th of July!!

Post by coppinpr »

many years ago I was having a quiet drink with an English friend of mine in a bar in North Carolina when a friendly but somewhat drunk American, hearing our English accents loudly informed us "we celebrate the 4th of July, its when we beat the British" my friend, without a seconds thought replied "we celebrate the 25th Nov, that's when we left" the jolly Yank with the "John Deere" baseball cap looked a little taken back!

Why on earth would you want to remind me of July 4th, my second wife's birthday and most definitely nothing to do with my independence?
