Allwin de Luxe (reserve ball) stolen

Hello Everyone.

Can you all help? — I hope this isn't breaking forum rules.
My wife's Grandfather left her a beautiful old slot machine. It's just about the only thing she has of his and on Monday night it was stolen. Along with lots of other things from our home in Guildford. — We can live with all other loses but the sentimental value of this to her is everything. If any of you come across it would you be able to get in contact with us?

The machine is beautiful.
The mechanism doesn't fully function.
It also contained a box of old pennies.

Thank you all.
Mark and Kate.

Awful news.
I would say welcome to the forum, however under the circumstances …..

Sadly we have a section on the forum for "Stolen", happily it is seldom employed, however I'm sure members will look.
I shall move your post to it.

I'm not as expert with Allwins as many others here are, it looks to me like a 3 ball reserve?
It appears to have its keys and should have its back as it's hanging on a wall.

If you can think of anything else to identify it please come back to us.
Good luck

Thank you BP.
It does have its key and its original back case.
The penny coin bowl on the front has a crack in it.
The back plate is just tin/zinc? with some patterning — no picture.
The mechanism can be primed and played but it isn't fully working.
Hope someone spots it.

Regards

Mark

Last night I did a scour of the usual Free Ads sites.
Assuming your thieves are opportunists and not familiar with names and terminology associated with veteran slot machines I searched using Old Machine.

I noticed a half or dozen or so Wanted adverts from collectors. I strongly suggest you contact those as it may be offered to them and there's no guarantee they are members here.

Again Good Luck

Very sorry to hear about this.
So we're looking for an Allwin de Luxe with reserve ball feature similar to the picture below. The machined metal backflash is fairly unusual (most Allwin de Luxe Reserve balls have green cloth), so that may help.

Mark and Kate - If you have any larger, closer images of the case it would help, as woodgrain is an allwin's fingerprint.

Thanks you all for the kind advice.
We're looking for better pics. Any advice on which free ad sites would be helpful.
I assume:
Ebay
Facebook
Gumtree
?

Not eBay, you can't contact anyone unless you buy from them.
I just put "Classified Adverts" into Google and took it from there.
I did also did Gumtree and Loot.

BP !!IDEA!!

I may be wrong, but you can contact sellers on eBay to ask them questions about the item, so if you did spot what you thought was it, you could maybe ask for example if you could come and see it before buying? Or if eBay don't allow that query, ask some other obscure questions about it like close-up pics of bits you would recognise?

A few years ago I assisted a friend in retrieving some stolen machines by purchasing a low value item from the ebay seller. This gave us his address. In the event though, another well known collector kindly placed bids guaranteed to win and the items were collected by the owner without payment.

Sure you can, but I wasn't referring to spotting it on eBay and trying to establish its pedigree. I was continuing my thread about contacting collectors who put wanted adverts in the classified adverts, in a similar vein to how OP has contacted this forum.

So sorry to hear about that, Mark & Kate, presumably they must have wrenched it off the wall?

Sincerely hope that you get it back.
