Pushapenny Three Win cigarette dispensing game o' skill

Post by Guest »

Folks,

Some months ago we purchased at auction, in the USA, of all places, an antique British penny machine (takes old pence), a game of skill which dispenses cigarettes if the customer wins. After hand-cutting a key to match the original Yale cabinet lock, and doing a little cosmetic touch-up work, we have listed it on eBay as item 6201349050.

Even if you're not interested in buying a penny machine which required a bit of restoration, you might take a look just for the fun of it, for we've added a little movie of the machine in action, including a win!

Click here for a link to the item.

Nice listing.
One of these sold at the Salisbury auction earlier this year.

I can't get the movie to run. Problem with my system maybe.

Thanks!

Yes, there is a problem with the embedded media player. Microsoft keeps changing it (it's loaded dynamically) and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Now, it seems, it will work only if you first load the movie into your browser's cache, which is something of a Catch-22.

The good news is that you can still view the movie, using your system's default media player, by clicking on the link in the auction listing below the embedded movie window (it should be self-explanatory) or by clicking here.

Regards,
Jeff

Hmmnn... That just produces a network error message. The joys of computers!

Thanks.
I cracked it at last - by right-clicking and downloading the file.
