Football Pools themed games

Post by pennymachines »

Browsing the forum recently, it struck me how many games used football Pools as a theme. Here's a round-up. Any others?

I had a Roto-pool about 12 years ago, I never got around to getting it going and really regret selling it!

Cor, 12d and 8d payouts on the Fixed Odds machine seem generous. Are there any other allwins that pay out such King's ransoms with a single play?

The very same OW Fixed Odds machine was on ebay in Austria today, yes Vienna in Austria, how did it end up there  .....unfortunately the seller ended the auction early, I guess to a sly bid, hopefully it is coming home :#:

Are those childhood memories watching tunnel visioned at the TV late on Sat afternoon as the most boring voice in the known universe read out the pools results, page after boring page of droned results, and then one day it happened... did he really say it? No rewinds in those days... and yet, yes ...he did and he said it without fluffing it, "Forfar 5 Fife 4". It's one of those moments when you always remember where you were when it happened, like the Kennedy assassination or 9/11. Now I can tell my kids "I was there that day". :didact:

James Alexander Gordon, now retired. I was surprised to learn that it was Eric Morecambe that actually read that Holy Grail of scoreline.

Yep, here's a Whales '9 Results' I bought at the Elephant House in March this year. It has 12d, 8d and 4d payouts. Coins are paid out in 4d doses on turns of the handle. Works nicely too (after a bit of TLC).

Nice machine you have there Hiflyer :D
I like the artwork on all Oliver Whales later machines, The nine results is always thought of as a football themed machine, but it is actualy based on the nine lives of a cat.. !YAWNCAT!

Jingle: Told you to make the most of Xmas Day as Boxing Day may be less enjoyable..... a home win & no need for pools panel. Wonder what Brendan got for Xmas? Let me guess............tiny tears dolly?
If you didnt go, it was a great game with great quality football from both sides too. I am sure you will be in the mix come May.

Jingle,
Well at least I was right in telling you to enjoy what Santa brought you Xmas Day... as Boxing Day was never going to be as enjoyable............................................. and at least we gave you an extra present in beating the Norwegian red poo for you!
So who do you prefer Martz or Moyz?
