Your best bet is to buy one of the 'Owners Pictorial Guide' books, all of which are available from the LIBRARY on this site, listed under American books. The Mills book is probably best, as Mills bandits are probably the easiest (and cheapest) of the American bandits to acquire. Aristocrat, Jubilee and Sega are the cheapest bandits, and to be honest, the mechs are almost identical to Mills. So buy a cheap bandit to start, and work from the Mills book.

As for 'How it Works' books for other types of machines, I can't help. There are certainly none that I know of, but if you find something - let us all know!
