New member | Berkeley bandit TLC

Postby iceollie » Thu Jan 11, 2018 10:07 am

Hi, I am new to this forum today. Hello all. Do any of you do any servicing or know anywhere that does? I live in London.

I have inherited a 60s One armed Bandit Sega machine from my grandfather who has sadly passed away and it needs a service as it is not paying out, and perhaps a little cleaning up.

Any help would be fantastic.

DM just sits in outbox.

Hi Coppinpr,

Thanks for getting back to me.

So the issues are:

It works, but my father told me the coin part at the top gets jammed so don't put any pennies down there. I currently have it rigged up so one of the levers/pins in there is open so that it doesn't need a coin to pull the arm down

It doesn't pay out when you get a winning combo

I think the inside just needs to be taken out/apart and cleaned, as I imagine there is a lot of gunk there.

It looks like the inside is in mostly working order.

With regards to the outside and restoring, I actually like the fact it doesn't look brand new and I think making it look brand spanking new will ruin it - however there probably are some bit which need a tidy up - for instance there are lots of little white specs of paint along the main body of it which obviously happened when it wasn't covered and my grandparents had their house re painted.. They can be scraped off easily it seems. Also behind the glass window there is a white wooden border which is a mess, and at the top the cream paint is quite worn. It would be great to get it looking a bit nicer, but as I said I do not want it "as new"

How much would this cost and would you be able to collect it and drop it back?

I look forward to hearing your reply.

It might be worth a call or perhaps me sending some images to you via email.

Private messages sent to a member show in the sender's outbox til the recipient actually reads the message

Once read, the message disappears from senders outbox and then shows in sent

FYI

Looks like you have a small job in your retirement Paul, although to make worthwhile e.g. petrol and time would expect a reasonable fee would be required.

Only person I am aware of that does Machine restores is Mark from Slot Machine depot in Herts......in the south.

Maybe I should get into this now I have retired

Sounds like a simple job, maybe you could do yourself. Which machine is it, a Lite Up, Hi Top etc? Share a picture.

If it's been rigged for free play, it may be a very simple fix....... to resolve the nonpaying issue.

Hi guys,

Thanks for the replies.

I did contact Mark Monroe but he disappeared in October and I haven’t been able to get through to him and he has not replied to my emails since.

I have attached some images.
