Jennings Governor retaining clamp
Jennings Governor retaining clamp
Hi, Can anyone tell me if the brass retaining clamp is standard on these machines ? This one is up for auction, but mine is identical.
Also, the left hand support as you look at it is cast and the right hand seems to be machined aluminium. Is this also common ?
Any help appreciated.

Re: Jennings Governor retaining clamp
Are they aluminium? All the ones I've seen have been a brass colour. The last one that I saw was just last month and the bolts were glued in. Is it possible that there was extra strain on the right side (where they usually seem to be) which eventually breaks the original and, if the bolts were not tight, wore out the bolt holes so they wouldn't take the original bolts when the bracket was replaced?

Just checked my Governor and from the back the one on the right is brass and the one on the left aluminium.

Cheers everyone, it seems this is normal. Wonder what the thinking was behind it?
