Re: Victorian Casino Antiques
Perhaps you should, Badpenny. There was an auction in New Jersey over the weekend, a friend of mine happened to be watching it. There were two lots of 200 old English pennies. The first went for $56, but the second fetched a staggering $290 - I can only speculate that the bidders had sorted through the lot and noticed something valuable in there.A quick calculation tells me I have about 3 or 4 thousand pennies (no 1933 or 1950's unfortunately) but perhaps I should ship them across
If I recall correctly, the face value of 200d is 83p. "Gor blimey guv, 'unnered 'n faw.ee five quid fer sixteen 'n eight? Yer a real toff!" (sorry, couldn't help it).
