Although the milled edge does suggest a coin or token of some sort, my guess is that it's not. The lack of markings on the back plus pin hole and gunk - indicate it was fastened to some English-made artefact. There's a 1924 silver match striker and brass inkwell on eBay today both with the words "English Make" stamped on the front. You don't give the dimensions but I'm guessing it's not a button either?

I tend to agree, I don't think it's a token either. The hole doesn't look as if it should be there either.

But thanks for posting the picture, perhaps somebody else knows.
