I think the reason it wasn't particularly successful is that you couldn't play the majority of the machines, only look at them, and it was in a small market town, not a high footfall tourist location. Also, at the time the machines were relatively cheap to buy.
Paul Daniels went on to co-own, for a short while, the oldest pay-to-enter tourist attraction in England, since 1630, Mother Shipton's Cave and Petrifying Well at Knaresborough, North Yorkshire.
