Are you using tokens, or actual old pennies?

...but why would anyone keep old pennies in stacks of TEN?
From a commercial perspective I need to charge £1 for 10 coins. This way in the event that people walk off with them instead of play them in the machines I am not out of pocket. They are in effect playing with 10 pence per coin.

Already established this ?? !PUZZLED!

I presume Brigham is referencing the artwork copy "20 old penny tokens" rather than "20 old pennies".
Maybe tokens reference "assists" camouflaging any license/permit issues.

I was merely curious.
I had thought that the intention was to use real pennies; then I saw the reference to 'tokens'.
There WERE penny tokens, back in the day. You sometimes found the occasional one in your winnings.
I had two; one which said 'Good for Free Play in Machine', and another which, rather abruptly, said 'No Value'.
I never thought to keep them. they were a bit of a swizz, really!

So first day done! Learned a great deal today. Machines were popular on a grim, windy day. Back tomorrow for another crack at it.

As a matter of interest how did you cope with the wind as I see the shutters are held up with telescopic supports |/XX\|

It looks great Paul, but you only have 8 machines, you need more. If you had some ( suitably painted up) attachable shelves, that brought the platform the machines stand on outside of the pillars all the way around the trailer, then you then could fit 6 machines along both sides and 3 machines across each end.In true Showman style you need to utilise all your available space.
Then you would have 18 machines, and a better chance of making some money.

Thanks Treefrog, here is a close up of the supports, there is an aluminium box section that slots over each one to lock everything together.

Thanks moonriver. Yes more machines are required. This is the first fit. Looking at extending over the draw bar in the future. The actual internals of the trailer are just 4foot by 6foot so limited with space taking into account the machine ends, depths etc. All a learning curve though and a good exercise in which machines take money😀

That penny arcade sign artwork is very strong. As moonriver says, utilising space is key driver.

Other options are to have additional income stream (if permissible) depending on site location. I wouldn't want to detract from that great artwork and clean look but if it's a serious business it may be something to think about? I wish you well, as it's not an easy environment. All the best!

Quite superb, an excellent first day out and I'm sure many lessons learnt.
You need to have a word with your grumpy old man in the brown warehouse coat and key chain, he's not to be seen in any of your photos.
If he's not in plain view at all times snarling at the kids, your punters are missing out on half the fun.

Brilliant! What a shame you are too far away for me to amble over. Any plans to go down South?
