Hi all, I'm trying to repair an Inca Gold electronic machine.
It had several levers that were bound up with old hard grease that I managed to free up and get the mechanics working.
Now there are electrical issues. The only thing working is the top light, I should be able to get the door lights working, but the rest of the electrics might be a problem.
When I first plugged it in, nothing happened for maybe 30 secs then a puff of smoke from the main board in the top which revealed a burnt resistor. Don't know the size of it.

Any idea where I can get circuit diagrams for it ?

Your machine may be a bit of a late model for us on this site, but post a photo of the machine. We do have Aristo experts on the site and I know one just repaired a four reel with a board. The puff of smoke doesn't sound promising. It's not so much the burnt out resister but what caused it to blow.

As I said last week .... you'll never get that blue smoke back in.

Post us a photo of the circuit board and indicate the suspect item, there are a few here who can read those do-hickies.

It's a 3 reel machine.
You can see the hopper type in one photo.
Click on the circuit board and you will see the fried resistor.

Widget will be along soon to at least help I'm sure...We warned him when he fixed the 4 reeler I sold him that he was now the site's hopper king.

These are at the end of our usual date range. Any machine that goes fizz rather than clang is a mystery to most of us. This is one of the last that did both.

Even though it is burnt the resistor still measures 56ohms, maybe that's the right replacement.

Is the resistor fried or is it suffering from a dry solder?

She's fried alright... all of the coloured bands are now black.

After removing the resistor I took it out in the sun with my loupe and I could see the first band is green so 56ohm will be the replacement.
Would like to know what the circuit with that resistor in it actually does?

Another question: What's the green button for?
When the door is open, there's a momentary green button right up the top on the left.

Might it activate a relay which in turn isolates the mains power within the cabinet?

The machine is working now.
It had several levers jammed by old hard grease, a broken mains input socket and a broken fluro tombstone. Also many adjustments were needed.

The green button (so I discovered) is for: During a payout, if the hopper becomes empty before completion of a pay, the hopper will keep running in an attempt to pick up coins for maybe 20 secs., then the machine powers off. The player will then call an attendant to get the remainder of their pay. The attendant will open the machine, fill the hopper then press the green button which restarts the machine and the hopper continues the payout.

Ha ha yeah funny about that.
What helped me were things that happened by accident but I took notice. Just needed the right clues and they jumped out in front of me. Pretty lucky this time.
