Help needed to identify mechanism maker
Help needed to identify mechanism maker
Some time ago I aquired a Sega Lite Up type machine, which looked like one of the possible Sega copies, Berkley etc. The mechanism is exactly like a Mills/Sega, but a lot lighter. At first I thought it was a cheap copy as the castings are roughish, but on investigation found markings I have not seen before. On the "A" frame the letters "LVGM" are printed and on the base plate a machine serial number and "Made in USA". There is no letters stamped on the rear clamps.
Has anyone any idea who this manufacturer is or has any info about the origins,
Many thanks

Re: Help needed to identify mechanism maker
I hazard a guess that the LV stands for "Las Vegas", and GM was the initials of a manufacturing company in town. Sega used to build machines here but they shopped parts out, and that frame came from a foundry. The 1951 Johnson Act stated that every part in a slot machine had to be marked with the maker's name, so you may find more evidence on other parts if you look closely.
