HELP! pleeeease!!!
hello everyone!
its me again! with ANOTHER plee for help!
i need to get hold of empty vending capsules! its for my degree show in about 3-4 weeks... but i really need to get the work done in the next 2 weeks or so!
i can't find any anywhere, other than midland vending, who i cant seem to get in touch with. they only sell them by the 1000s and 1000s and i only need a couple of hundred!
i've tried ebay but im only getting a few results, for 90mm capsules, i think i need something around 20mm and 40mm...
any help would be so so appreciated... or i wont be wearing one of these anytime soon!
even if you can't help me find them, if you know any alternatives i could use that would vend that would be great!
thankyou all! xxx

Re: HELP! pleeeease!!!
Ping Pong balls, if they're the right size. Use a scalpel and cut them in half then rejoin them with 4 spots of super glue at opposite points so they can be easily be broken into.
Lurk around your nearest supermarket looking for items in packaging that resembles the indented trays that boxes of chocolates use or egg trays. Throw away the contents, cut the holders out and seal over the open end with cling film.......... likewise those soft plyable latex sort of ice cube molds you can buy now.
Make them yourself out of papier mache (newspaper and polycell) or buy a few dozen eggs, blow them (pin pierce in each end then blow out the contents) Dip them in varnish to strengthen them, cut them in half as per the Ping Pong ball suggestion.
Go to B&Q, buy a length of plastic tubing the right diameter and then cut it into the right lengths and seal the ends with cling film.
Try these people

Try your local angling tackle shop some fishermen use clear plastic bubbles as floats similar to these........

You might end up looking like a drug pusher but these appear to be available in all sizes and are very cheap .............
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Empty-Capsules-x1 ... 721wt_1039
These can even be heat shrunk to seal or diminish the size ............
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/WINE-BOTTLE-CAPSU ... _500wt_975
Probably all wrong but I'm getting sleepy now with all of the work I've put in on your degree ....

I'd have thought these people were worth talking to .........

as for midland vending, ive e-mailed them a few times and they aren't willing to negotiate selling me 200, they only sell in bulk
as for the second link, ive been on their site before as well and tried calling them... i never get a reply... lord knows how they manage to sell ANYTHING!
thankyou so much for looking
i think i'm definately on route to failing this degree.

Re: HELP! pleeeease!!!
thankyou so so much for all of your suggestions, if my search for proper vending capsules doesnt work out (which is definately the way i see things going) you've given me alot of options to consider! its just so so hard. i've got to make the stuff to go in the capsules, and for my card vendor and loooads of other bits, so making capsules and stuff might be hard to get done!Badpenny wrote:If all else fails blaim me, if any of them work I want to wear your on alternate Muck Spreading Tuesdays.
i think something like ping pongs balls is probably easiest... or i was thinking, the tiny plastic shot glasses just sealed with a disc of card or plastic!?!?!
wish me luck

Re: HELP! pleeeease!!!
Daft question seeing as the vendors lived in my back garden for 18 months ........... but, isn't the aperture inside at the bottom adjustable so you could use the Tomy ones currently on e-Bay?
How about encapsulating the gifts in "Fortune Cooky" batter, then your mother .......... errrr .. I mean you could make them to whatever size you want? It snaps off clean to reveal the prize within and is dead simple to make.
