Re: Newbe with what I thought was unknown machine
That broken first reel feeler disk may not matter, as the only pieces you actually need to be intact are the bottoms of the slots that adjust how far the feeler can fall in. The raised fingers between the slots do nothing, because the stoppers work on the steel pins.

Re: Newbe with what I thought was unknown machine
Welcome to the site tazmantic. I believe your Princess was revamped from a Gunter Wulff machine by AMECO (The Amusement Equipment Company Ltd. of Wembley). See Page 7 of Revamped Beromat-type Bandits which has lots more relevant information.
The Wasting of Britain's Marshall Aid describes how Britain (unlike Germany, Italy and France) failed to use the U.S. funded European Recovery Programme to rebuild and modernize our industry and infrastructure.
Although your Princess looks to be in rather poor shape, as others have mentioned, spares for these are fairly abundant.
Actually, it was only three years, which created a boom in German slot machine production. Industrial stimulation was probably the purpose of this edict - it certainly did the industry more favours than any other so-called gaming restriction.coppinpr wrote:Germany was allowed to make slots after the war but only under certain conditions, one of which was that after (I think) 10 years they had to be broken up or exported.

Thanks again treefrog and I will do a lot of searching as yes, I don't know what bugs are lol, and I'll try sort things one bit at a time. I think I got a bit excited last night when I found out what it was and people who knew about it, so asked lots of questions all at once.
Cheers Operator Bell, I have found that and the payout seems to work not too bad but, if I can get replacements, then I will.
Cheers pennymachines, that's where I was first looking before I joined and yes it is a bit worse for wear, but as I knew the seller and it was local and I think cheap (but I don't really know what they're worth) I thought I'd give it a go for my first one. As I could not find anything about it, before I bought it, was hoping it was going to be really rare

Wait till you get your first Mills or Sega machine - you will compare the two mechs and and realize that aliens did visit Chicago in the 1930s and bring advanced technology the like of which has never been bettered
Re: Newbe with what I thought was unknown machine
Also managed to have a bit of a play tonight and found a new use for an old sky viewing card
Least now me and the kids can have a play without keep opening it up.....

Re: Newbe with Princess bandit
Well the sky card is still working but I must see about getting or making some proper bits (asking treefrog very nicely for any close ups when you have time ). Just wondered where I might get some or where to advertise that I want bits? and was also wondering is there any way I could get a new pic for the glass front, as I'd like to try to keep it original?
I've also got rid of the tape on the reel stop fingers and payout finger and replaced it with felt pads (pic below), and it seems to be working quite well but, as I think I mentioned, I had to do this as the reels didn't spin that well and the payout fingers seemed to stop the reels before the reel stoppers did. Any suggestions why this could be? Is there any adjustment or are they just worn?
Cheers.

I may be able to get a better picture of the glass, which you would need to touch up with Photoshop and possibly get a printer to reproduce on clear plastic.
Below are not great quality pictures of the coin entry area. You probably just need a flat piece of metal with a space wide enough to let a coin past. There is a spring clip at the top holding the plate in place.

Re: Newbe with Princess bandit
Thanks treefrog, soon as I get a chance I'll have a go at making one up.
Must also try and find some feeler disks as mine are looking a bit sorry.
Any idea where I might get some?

Hi Taz ..... I'm not sure what you mean by feeler discs, however when it comes to the spring clip that holds the coin entry gauge together just dismantle a bull dog clip.

I do have some spare mechs - the problem will be getting them apart, as these machines I have found to be a bugger to take apart. When forced they break apart....tazmantic wrote:Must also try and find some feeler disks as mine are looking a bit sorry.

Re: Newbe with Princess bandit
Now I understand "feeler disc"
I can't imagine finding replacements let alone removing or refitting one without tears before sleepy time.
Generally you get to a point with GW mechs where it's cheaper and easier to swap a complete mech over from one with a knackered case. Then keep the original one for spares.

Re: Newbe with Princess bandit
Cheers guys, think you have mentioned this before. Well, maybe I'll leave it then, as it's paying out OK. It's just the lugs that have broken off
Re: Newbe with Princess bandit
Already got one of those on standby lolbadpenny wrote:...when it comes to the spring clip that holds the coin entry gauge together just dismantle a bull dog clip.
Re: Newbe with Princess bandit

Re: Newbe with Princess bandit
