Oliver Whales - Players Please
I'm looking for a good quality digital photo of the top marque. Can anybody help? Thanks Peter
Re: Oliver Whales - Players Please
OK, so I have the same question because it turns out this exact machine queried above just came in for a clean up and then sale on consignment. The red marquee that came with it is hand painted over the plastic and pretty amateurish up close. The owner did create a fairly decent blue version himself but not quite right and colors are off. So looking for a decent photo or scan please. This thing has a fantastic backflash and needs a great marquee sign to match. Thank you, cheers, rory.

From this little survey of OW Players Please allwins, it looks like the design you already have is correct. The first image here is from the old Whales trade show photo, showing the early version top marquee, and it seems they stuck with that design, adapted from the Player's Cigarettes advertising logo.
Re: Oliver Whales - Players Please
Thanks PM, interestingly the blue lower left two are same machine. In person this blue repro isn't quite as naive as the originals, it has a dark outer line and looks too much like a modern print. I'll have to mess around with it then and make it more like the one shown. Also cig placement is off. Personally I much prefer the red version as matches the artwork color, but it's far too naively painted. I'll probably go with the pale blue version as that seems to turn up a lot on images i found online. But nothing I can work from sadly.

I think a yellow background to match the flash background would look nicest. Is that allowed?
Re: Oliver Whales - Players Please
Hey PM, my comment was just about the two colors the machine came with. This photo below of a pale blue sign comes from this site and matches the playfield perfectly. But I've seen the same pale blue on quite a few yellow background machines. Maybe when they changed background colors they kept using the leftover blue marquee signs, or operators swapped them around over time?

The pale blue background of this particular marquee actually ties in well with the whale artwork in the centre.

I've tried to upload the graphics but can't seem to do it since things changed. There is no mythical "green" button to press above the text, even though I'm a logged in member?

Sorry about that. Looks like it got lost in the last major Forum overhaul. It's now reinstated.

Thank you, what file format do you prefer the files in these days?

JPEG (JPG), GIF or PNG would be fine. I guess PNG (lossless) is favourite. PSD not currently accepted (but could change that, if required).
