Nitromors should be reported under the trade descriptions act. That stuff does not strip paint. I took the overpriced rubbish back to B&Q and told them it did not do what it said on the tin. I got a full refund. I have been using Starchem Synstrip available on eBAY. It's an industrial stripper and will strip anything. You have to buy five litres though. I also agree with the Colron comments. Just bought a tin of dark oak. It doesn't spread evenly and it's nowhere near a dark oak colour when it's applied. Another great EU directive to mess things up.

I've just used the Liberon recommended by 13rebel and have had great results :) just like the original coloron, don't waste your money with the new coloron it leaves the finish patchy and dark in places, and it doesn't really soak into the wood it can be scraped back off with your finger nail etc, and if you put too much on it pulls the first lot back off :(

Glad to hear you had a good result on my recommendation Widget. Having never used wood dye, I was surprised at how easy it was to apply with a cloth leaving an even, streak-free finish.

Anyone got feedback on this stripper Paramose - whether the thin or thick version is best, seems there are two? Thick you appear to be able to use water to wash off.

Also anyone had experience with Morrells wood stain?

Had good results with this Tom, just as good if not better than Paramorse, like wallpaper paste but good for sticking on the sides without running off.

My only input would be show extreme caution with any thin version as it can drip or splash, onto you, or anything nearby, to where you are working. If you haven't taken necessary precautions beforehand then you will soon find out.

Finally after 10 years I have finally started doing serious restorations even dropped off my firs chrome jobs, trying Ashfords as not too far. Will see how I get on.

Now I know how Trump feels, false news  , not that I am suggesting he strips or anything.....

Suspect I will need more than gloves while performing, perhaps a full condom suit to protect from the toxic chemicals

If it's wrinkle paint no paint stripper will touch it

Maybe not but you can put your gloves on and giggle whilst trying.
