Double Six one armed bandit
Re: Double Six one armed bandit
Hi there I just love to find out the history of these machines, so thank you. I would have a stab at what you are suggesting if I knew which part of the machine you are referring to. Remember I'm the 'hit it with a hammer' person!

its not going to easy if your unsure of the basic workings of the machine, open the machine and run the machine, when you get a winner note which parts move and pay, the slides are the pieces that hold the coins ready to pay and will be just above the coin payout bowl.
You WILL find your machine at this excellent site http://www.automatix-club.de/
look through the alphabetical lists bottom left of the welcome page. BUT I dont think you will find it as "double Six" only under what ever its german name was

Ah thanks again, is it the flat plates that are stacked on top of each other with a load of springs on the top?

What was the outcome of my post yesterday at 6.49pm?
I was certain that the answer to your problem lay there.

Hi, checked the plate thingys and all seem to be ok. Looked again at the spring I replaced that opperates the arm beneath the centre reel and it was way too tight. Shortened the spring a bit and Voila! She's paying out again. Woo hoo!!! Thanks for your help guys. Is there like a slot machine convention anywhere, it would be really nice to meet you in person and buy you a drink!

No, a conversion is often a religious experience, it's good but not that good. This one is however a bit like a convention for us lot.Is an auction the same as a conversion?
Run by forum members for collectors in a venue with a nice warm bar and bacon butties, then there is the Sat night before when some meet up for a meal and a chat and the Sunday night after when others meet for a meal and a chat (the second one is only for those with any money left).
I personally had a great weekend, sold 5 lots bought 8 lots (inc. two machines) met up with a forum member from Holland, paid homage to the forum gurus who were mostly all there, re captured my youth by sitting back, closing my eyes and listening to 50 or so machines being "tested" by prospective buyers, had an nice Indian meal with my Dutch friend before he flew home, stayed in a nice hotel and drove home Monday with no money left... Who could ask for anything more?

Oooooo, sounds pretty sweet. You happen to know when the next one is, and whereabouts it will be?

The way we run our auctions they tend to be more of a gathering than a production line.mei-mei wrote:Is an auction the same as a convertion?

Re: Double Six one armed bandit
Hi all,
I have the same machine. It’s missing a plate inside that holds the coin against the rail It’s been badly replaced with a piece of tin. However, this proves unreliable and the coin often slides past.
Would anyone be able to send me photos of what the plate should look like so I can make a replica?
Please see attached photos for clarification.
Thanks
James
