BP's jokes are the funniest and cleverest jokes ever conceived, !!HYSTERIA!! ...I say this because at the moment he has a Columbia Deluxe bandit he's un-jammed for me and I'm hoping he will take a long look at an electric exciter I've bought but can't get to work and need for my "Electric Amuser".

BP was implying that our dear friend's plea, "presently I can't get to the machine" arose because he was detained during Her Majesty's pleasure. The queen's speech now concluded, he should be at liberty again. I hope that clears things up.

Her Majesty's pleasure
As a Yank, I find the phrase perplexing. What pleasures a 90 year old woman? And don't say Prince Phillip. That ship sailed long ago.

Hi, right I am getting down to the nitty gritty here on the mechenism. Does anyone have a spare arm that the penny sits on, that rotates when the hand held dial is rotated. Mine is broken in two places. Or any suggestions on how to manufacture one? Pic of the broken one below.

Do not be put off m-m, all of those simple adjectives apply, humour on this site can often be wicked and warped.

Hi all, well after months of huffing and puffing I am finally at the point of reattaching the clock hands. Problem is it has been so long I can't remember what order the bits go in. Is it washer; min. hand; washer; hour hand; washer; nut? Or are there less washers? Help please, Mei-mei

If I remember rightly, it's wash, rinse and spin. :burp:
OK, sorry, I don't remember...

Digital cameras have made my life soooooooo much easier when it comes to putting machines back together right. But of course it's never the complicated sections that you deliberately take close ups of, because those bits you make sure to remember, but some goofy little bit or bracket that luckily appears slightly blurry in the background, documented by accident!

although i havnt had a bryans clock in years the sequence you list looks to be logical except that on a real clock it would be hour hand before min hand, trying it either way ,with or without washers will not hurt it and will answer all questions

Hi again, I have tried it several ways, that's why I contacted you. Sometimes the minute hand just dangles while the hour hand goes round, then neither hand goes round. Another try made the hour hand go at the speed of the minute hand and visa versa, then the hour hand just dangles while the minute hand goes round. In fact I have had just about every combination with the exception of the hands going backwards! !!SUICIDAL!! I think the only way to move forward is to give it a rest for a few months and try again when I've had a few beers, can't hurt :dammit:
