About £250 to £350, ants and a large bowl of water to stand it over, optional.

A machine I have never understood, basically a box with a lens at the top, oh with the added nightmare of managing whatever you put in it.....wonder if this was an April fool by Mr Bryans :HaHa:

In the classic carny tradition of making the user think they're getting something saucy, when in fact just a clever play on words. Considering how many have survived they were obviously a popular machine with operators. Every machine needed maintenance of some kind or other so feeding the lil' blighters occasionally seems easy enough, especially compared to pinball machine issues and servicing. And almost no space needed to place one!

An old repairman I knew told me that in the '50s or '60s he tried an experiment at the fairground he was working. He bolted an empty box to a building column in the arcade, drilled an eye hole and added a coin slot, nothing else. And it was full of coins by day's end! !!JUNK!!

Post move & merged - Site Admin.

Finally got round to slot machines after numerous outstanding jobs on the house and in the garden. I made a start on my Bryans Live Peep Show (Ant Viewer, as it's more commonly referred to). The main issue was delaminating plywood due to, I presume, damp storage. I discovered during this procedure that you can never have too many clamps!

It's all going well, but I really want to get it properly working, as intended.
I have put an advert in the Wanted section of the market for the original Ants Nest, or photos of one.
