Sega Windsor bulb?

Post by banditboy67 »

Hi all,
New member so sorry if asked already, did look.. honest!!

Found a blown 44/47 type bulb up near where the coins go in, can't make much info out from the bulb but I seem to see Philips 50v 0.75A !PUZZLED!
If this is correct are they available to purchase?

Thx in advance!!

Hi,
and welcome to the site. You will find this is a very active site and, usually, will be able to answer your questions.

There are many many versions of the Windsor. The standard ones have no bulbs, only tubes, so I'm guessing you have one of the many versions with a feature. Can we see a photo of the machine? Is the bulb a screw fit or bayonet fit? How big is the bulb? Some of these conversions were done by various UK suppliers and are not always the same.

44/47 bulbs (lamps) are 6 volt bulbs as used in pinball machines and are easy to find if you do a search.

My 60s pinball has the same fitting but as you mentioned they're 6v? I'm sure this one is rated as 50V?

Hi, my Sega Windsor uses 30v 0.15a bulbs. These machines use a 30v ac supply.
30v 5w bulbs can also be used.
It is possible that someone has used the wrong bulbs in the past, don’t let this throw you.

Thanks' for that, couldn't make my mind up if it was a 5 or a 3 before the zero...
30v it is then... can you tell me the best place to buy please?
Any top tips on cleaning the reel strips? Can I use a mild pinball playfield cleaner?

I use window cleaning spray sprayed onto paper towel to clean reels strips, always check a small area first to be safe.
The guys might know where you can get the bulbs. I only know you can get them direct from China in packs of 10.

As it's just a single bulb that doesn't do a lot you might consider an LED bulb. These are often 6-30v but I don't know what bayonet size yours is.
Search on ebay to see if it looks the same.

Just been looking at the bulbs on the door for insert coin decal, one missing one blown.... the one blown has 12v on the side?? Am I right assuming that these should also be 30v?

Some of these Windsor machines had a 6 volt tapping to supply the coin light. All other lamps were 30 volt.

The 2 bulbs on the door will be 30 v , the coin denomination light may be 6v or 30 v depending on your version of machine.

It's at times like this the cheapest volt meter is useful.
