Jennings Governor problem
Jennings Governor problem
Looking for some help here. I've dismantled and reassembled my Jennings mechanism and for some reason the clock fan is hitting part of the mechanism as it slows down. I’m not 100% sure, but I don’t think this was happening before I stripped and rebuilt it. Just wondering if anyone can think of something obvious that I have missed.
Re: Jennings governor problem
You have probably just bent the wings down accidentally. Just bend it back up slightly so it doesn’t touch. It is possible to adjust clock speed just by tweaking the wings
Re: Jennings governor problem
When I compare it with my machine it looks like the fan is bent down? Sorry for bad picture.
Re: Jennings governor problem
I have to admit it does look as simple as a bent fan. I just don’t know how it happened as I was very careful (unless the wife was involved). I’ll bend it back tomorrow and see if it's OK. Thanks.

All sorted and thanks for pointing out the bleedin obvious.
Managed to get the escalator working perfectly too - it was simply one link out of position on the chain.
