Just bought this photo/postcard of a bar in Mexico, used and post marked June 1930. Can anyone identify the row of bandit machines ?

First machine I guess is a mills operator bell, the next row of machines I was thinking pace. Looking in the book entitled “slot machines” by Marshall fey, on page 113 is a picture of a pace “master bell” model and on page 134 a pace “operators bell”. Both similar looking to those in your picture.

I think Bill has it dead right. If you blow up the photo you can just make out the bell on the lower part of the casting of machine one and the others have to be Pace, and defiantly 1927. In 1928 they had gone over to a slightly different lower casting.

I have this pic in my library somewhere and from (poor) memory recall they were Skelly machines - I.E. pre-Pace.

Following Andy's suggestion, apart from the absence of the short castings on top, the Skelly Fox of 1925 looks a close match to all but the nearest bandit (see this thread at CoinOp Collector Forum). Difficult to judge from the angle if they have the rotary escalator of the 1926 Candy Boy or the simple drop-through of the Fox.

This thread made me wonder about the town. Turns out it was a very popular weekend/vacation area for Americans from the '20s till the early '60s due to its proximity to the US border. It had a Vegas style strip (of sorts), a racetrack, bull ring and massive shopping area. "Cafés" like the Castle Café were very popular and many had slots very similar to the Castle Café ones. I found a few postcards that catch sight of the slots.

The Gent's toilet is on a mezzanine floor and boasted the added luxury of letting you keep an eye on your beer.
