Strength tester pointer

Post by widget2k4 »

Some of you may remember this machine from a previous auction. I remember when looking at it how I was going to manage straightening the pointer on it as it was all bent. When I got round to cleaning it up etc I noticed the pointer was made like that and after finding a few more pictures online they were the same.

Is there any reason why they were made like that?
Just looks odd to me.

The needle has been designed to look like balance is important (which on these machines it is not) and therefore the machine is very accurate (which it... might be). The needle tail and balance ring on the point side hint at this. Perhaps the off set needle is part of that "look how accurate this machine is". It looks great by the way.

To give the impression that somebody really strong used it before you and it bent the hand, giving the next punter a challenge.

Wow that looks fantastic in the green.

I’m going to have to look at mine in the morning when I get home from work.

Mines slightly different mine has an alloy top and both my reels spin showing two horoscopes I might have to pick your brain and compare machines
