Re: shield catcher pins
Although the coin cup is atypical, it looks like a Jentzsch & Meerz Simplex - so I've merged your post with the thread on these.

This one is from the Nic Costa Auction 06
Re: Shield catcher pins
Thanks for the info, it's looking like it's a strip down job after all then as none of the other ones have pin configuration anywhere near like mine, hoping the original holes under the back flash are still OK

Re: Shield catcher pins
Thanks mate, I think that's what mine's supposed to look like
Is the back felt or is it like leather?

It's plush (cloth) backing. I see there's another in the next EH auction. Also had alterations to the payout cup.

Thanks PM, is the plush still available nowadays or is it all that new synthetic crap?

Re: Shield catcher pins
A good trick Gameswat taught me is to go to a shop that reconditions pool tables and purchase one of their used felts. It has the patina of age and is perfect for backflash use on a variety of wall games.

I reckon this was a cigarette payout one in its earlier life. The square surround of the original payout cup is typical, the blanked off section in the middle of the playfield probably showed the cigs.pennymachines wrote:I see there's another in the next EH auction.
