I bought this little American Trade Stimulator at the auction (it was partially dismantled in a box).

There's no maker's name.
Can you tell me who made it and when.

The tray under the little window on the right has to have something on it to tip the lever it's attached to in order to release the mechanism for play.
I assume this would have contained gum balls?

Under the round window there's a little device which is raised by a rod when a coin is inserted. What is this supposed to do?

Finally the little slot on the front left of the machine is also a mystery.

I'd be grateful for any suggestions

Hi Its an Exhibit Supply "Select Em" 1934 .According to The book "Vintage trade stimulators & counter games":
The year beer really began to flow was the year of the dice game. Small , easily mechanized and fun,they were endemic to taverns and bars. Exhibit supply company of Chicago staked out a claim to the genre and turned out more than anybody else in the thirties .Select em seated the format for dicers ; flat , coin window,delicate tilt, 1 to 6 number selector, and distinctive graphics .They were all the same but looked different.

And it still doesn't tell you owt, the last line is priceless. :

There should be a small ball-bearing under the glass. This rolls off if there's any cheating, and stays off until the next coin is inserted.
I assume the little slot on the right must have been for a gum ball without a gamble? Anyone know?
And can you get the right sized gum?
