Mills Poinsettia

Post by francos »

Hi I've just got a Mills Poinsettia barn find needing a lot of TLC. I've made a start on restoring it. This is my first time at restoring which I find enjoyable. It has a few parts missing that I do not identify. I do know it needs a full set of springs and it needs the jackpot slide and maybe a few others I've not found yet, plus I found a part at bottom of machine I'd like to know if it's off the mech or jackpot and where it goes. I'll try and put a photo of the part found:

I have lots more to ask but this will do for now.

Looks a nice honest machine. I do have a Poinsettia, but of course not next to me so cannot confirm the bit in question. I would be able to answer on later Mills machines, but less familiar with early ones, but I am not sure it looks like a slot part.

Perhaps share some pictures of the mechanism and inside of cabinet may help identify any other issues. Looks like a nice project !!THUMBSX2!!

Nice looking machine.
Mine has a Pace double jackpot conversion, and I don't think it improves the appearance.
I'll take the mech. out, if I get time, and see if I can spot your 'bit'. It needs a look anyway, the jackpots don't fill.

Thanks for that. I will keep adding photos as I have so much to do to it. It as no jackpot slide and I think at some point the jackpot was disabled. It needs new reel strips plus a full set of springs and whatever else. This is my first project.

You could do a lot worse than bringing it to ……
No guarantees you'll find everything but it's the best chance you'll get.
