Reels stopping order

Post by francos »

Hi,
I have a question - when I spin reels, instead of the reels stopping 1 2 3, it stops 1 3 2. How can I correct this?
Thanks

I can only think of 3 reasons for that, firstly something is slowing down the middle real like blocking or rubbing on it, secondly old grease has affected the spindle flow, lastly the reel stop lever is not working correctly due to being either bent, worn or not sitting correctly on the clock bar at the bottom......I am sure there may be other reasons/

If you operate and stop the clock fan before completing cycle, so the reels are free, do they all spin smoothly?

Yes, they all run free when I stop the fan. I will check closer to see if anything is rubbing.

Watch the stop levers at the bottom as they drop off the clock bar. Are they dropping in correct order?

I don't think they are dropping in order. I was wondering if one of the brakes may be in the wrong order.

That's unlikely, the stop levers aren't different it's the horizontally moving clock bar that is shaped to release them in order.

As TF says check that end of what's happening. What you haven't described is if the time gap between the stops dropping is as you'd expect or (as I suspect) 3 and 2 are dropping close to each other?

There is one other reason why this might be happening. What machine is it? Some Ballys can be set to run 132: it might be running as it should be!

OK then back to my comment ……….
