Sega Windsor Buccaneer jackpot feed tube

Post by pennywise »

Hi I've got a Sega Windsor "The Buccaneer" with a jackpot window but there isn't a feed tube to fill the jackpot, does anyone know if it should have one or where to even start looking for one or is it a manual fill. !PUZZLED! Many thanks

It’s not manual fill, someone has removed the feed tube. Sorry can’t help with the right part but here’s what it should look like  I made one out of plastic pipe which worked fine until I sourced the right part.

Yes it should, as I don't have a machine like that I can't show you. Perhaps somebody who has could post a piccy.

Coins overflow from the top of the pay out tube to the JP and then when that's full they topple through the spring loaded trap in the tap and fall into the cash box below.

Personally I'd be tempted to open up a tin can and fashion one myself.

Ditto ………

Stick a Wanted advert here https://pennymachines.co.uk/market/advertise/
And I'll draw the attention of it to someone I think may have one.

Looks like he needs a complete new payout tube as the bolt hole has been smashed off, or some fabrication to make a new one?

He's missing two parts, the coin tube that connects to the JP and the coin deflector that sits at the top of the tube.

You are right Keith, the top tube casting has damage, so three bits are needed and if including the plastic coin tube 4  Someone must of been super strength to undo those little screws. :o

Bodger's delight! You're the one who picks up the pieces (depends how many pieces you need) after the care and attention has been lavished from someone who works in a butcher's shop.

Incidently, when all the parts have been obtained and fitted, be careful not to have the back flap to the jackpot too tight. There should be a long thin spring that hangs from a hook on the flap and the other end is put on a small teardrop shaped plate which can be set in position by tightening up a screw. If the flap is too tight (owing to spring tension) the coins will pile up and the reserve jackpot will jam. The older mechanical machines would do this as well.

Many years ago, I had my Progressive Star playing up like that. Not much in the coin box and a tube full of old size 5p coins. I wondered where the hell the coins were going. When I inspected the jackpot, there they were, all heaped up like an overloaded wheelbarrow. If I had won a jackpot, the reserve would have probably delivered next to nothing.

That machine is now 55 years old and I still have it.

But if you don’t put the feed tube on when the payout tube gets full the coins are going to go everywhere and probably jam everything up
Sorry read it wrong thought u said you didn’t want to put it back on haha
