US Casino still using mechanical slots!

Post by coppinpr »

I've been trying to identify the Jennings machine shown below to add to the Jennings pages at www.penny-arcade.info as I believe it's the last Jennings model made. It appears to be later than the 700 series and might be called "the Olympic" but I'm not sure, if anyone can help please?

Anyway, it would seem the only casinos to buy this model in quantity were the Fitzgerald Group, a very shady mob in the early days and based in Reno with a few hotels spread around the US. They seem to have been loosely associated with the "Nevada Club" casinos. Their hotels have all gone now except the one in Tunica Mississippi. This claims to be, "the only Casino in the US still using old style mechanical slots" (although it's actually a mix of old and new). Interesting, but reviews on tripadviser make it sound pretty seedy. It's also said to have the worst buffet in the US... and that's saying something!!!

Funny, I saw one of these for sale on a Facebook group. Not the prettiest of machines... Wondered who made it, as it has an escalator.
