BMCo. Postman fortune teller identified

Postby coppinpr » Sat Mar 30, 2019 1:20 pm

An american member of the www.penny-arcade.info site has asked me for information on the machine below. He knows absolutely nothing about it. It's not my style, but I like it (especially those fat head draw pulls). I'm also guessing if it's what I guess it is (an all original Wonders fortune teller on 1d with top pediment), it's quite rare? Early '50s?

It's a 1930s British Manufacturing Company card vending fortune teller. They made one or two in this style with back-painted mirror flash, including a version of Your X-Ray Photo. It's quite rare (I've seen three or four of the Postman). The mirror looks to be in good condition and great that the pediment is there.
