Anyone know where this UK arcade was please? (nice jukebox)
I also just found the second photo and the wording struck me as a bit... unreal?

Swansea Pier. (I didn't know Swansea had a pier. Mumbles, perhaps.)

I was wondering if the phrase ‘take a shock and look pleasant’ wasn’t a claim that the electricity would improve your appearance. Rather it was a challenge to see if you could keep a cheerful face while you received the shock. ‘Look pleasant’ was a phrase often used by Victorian and Edwardian studio photographers when posing their clients.

With absolutely no evidence to offer, I saw a photo very like that arcade in a book I was thumbing through in a shop. It claimed to be Brighton.
